SOUTH-CENTRAL : Meeting Set on Riot and Quake Damage

Merchants and residents are invited to attend Community Advisory Committee meetings for the 9th Council District on April 12 and 26 to review plans for revitalizing areas damaged in the 1992 riots.
Councilwoman Rita Walters is expected to attend. Discussion will include damage suffered in the Jan. 17 earthquake in an area bounded by the Santa Monica Freeway to the north, 84th Street to the south, Alameda and Central avenues to the east and Vermont Avenue to the west.
The meetings begin at 6 p.m. at the Hope Baptist Church at 5200 S. Central Avenue.
