COSTA MESA : Soup Kitchen Plans Egg Hunt, Dinner
- Share via
Children will hunt for Easter eggs today before a dinner at the Someone Cares Soup Kitchen.
Coordinator Art Rorden said he expects the event to be attended by 200 children, all of whom will receive Polaroid photographs of themselves with the Easter bunny. “It’s a big thing for the kids,” Rorden said. A woman who regularly volunteers at the soup kitchen will play the bunny role, he said.
The kitchen is preparing to serve about 800 meals from 1 to 4 p.m., Rorden said. The egg hunt will be from noon to 1 p.m. Rorden said about 45 volunteers will serve a meal that includes chicken, baked fish, yams and mashed potatoes.
The kitchen is at 661 Hamilton St.
