A board of volunteers working to establish a countywide arts council has applied for a technical assistance grant from the California Arts Council.
The board has asked for about $30,000, said Joe Felz, director of the Fullerton Museum Center and a board member. A CAC spokeswoman said the grant, if approved, probably would total about half that much, in accordance with previous technical assistance grants. The grant would be good for the 1994-95 fiscal year.
About $10,000 in technical assistance funds transferred to the board from its predecessor, the Committee to Form an Orange County Arts Council, has been used to hire local arts consultant Bonnie Brittain Hall as a part-time coordinator, Felz said.
Other members of the new board include Jose Aponte, principal administrative librarian of the San Juan Capistrano Regional Library, and Julie Mayer, president of the Anaheim Arts Council. Its funds, Felz said, are being handled by the Orange County Community Foundation, which assists with local charitable efforts.
