Laguna Beach’s Towner Is Ninth

Earl Towner, Laguna Beach High cross-country and track coach, was the first finisher from Orange County in the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run.
Towner, 43, was ninth among the men in 20 hours 50 minutes 45 seconds. Fred Shufflebarger, 45, of Laguna Beach finished 17th among the men in 21:59:53.
