Apple Has New Computer for Schools: Apple Computer Inc. today will unveil its newest Apple Macintosh computer, aimed at the educational market. Developed to meet schools’ needs, the LC 520 offers built-in CD-ROM, high-quality stereo sound and an exceptional color display in an all-in-one design, Apple said. The Cupertino, Calif.-based computer company hopes that the new model will strengthen Apple’s already dominant position in American primary and secondary schools. In the U.S. market, the LC 520 will be available only to educational institutions, priced at about $1,600.
