Claremont : Libraries Get Allen’s Papers

A former member of the United States Commission on Civil Rights who is a professor of government at Harvey Mudd College has donated his papers to the Libraries of the Claremont Colleges.
Included in the documents of William B. Allen, who was commissioner from 1987 to 1992, are transcripts from hearings on campus bigotry and violence, fair housing, Indian Civil Rights, AIDS and Allen’s own correspondence and speeches.
The papers are available in the Special Collections Department of Honnold Library, 800 N. Dartmouth Ave. Information: (909) 621-8045.
