Two drunk-driving checkpoints conducted the night of Ventura’s high school graduations netted four arrests out of 429 drivers screened by officers.
Thursday night’s checkpoints were intended to encourage teen-agers to celebrate the graduation night sober. None of the four people arrested were new graduates.
Heidi Strobel, 39, of Camarillo and Marco Denogean, 35, of Oxnard were booked by the Ventura Police Department on suspicion of drunken driving and released.
Andy Aguilar, 24, and Blake Cruz, 24, both of Oxnard, were cited for possessing open containers of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
