Chatsworth: A third company in the complex escapes harm. No injuries are reported.
An early-morning fire destroyed a Chatsworth bakery and sprinkler manufacturing company Wednesday, causing an estimated $3 million in damage, a Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman said.
Flames engulfed the businesses, housed in the same single-story building in the 21300 block of Itasca Street, about 2 a.m., spokesman Jim Wells said.
More than 75 firefighters battled the blaze, which took an hour and a half to extinguish.
A third business in the building, described as a plastics manufacturing company, escaped damage, Wells said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation Wednesday.
Residents of a nearby mobile home park escaped injury.
