* In response to “A Clearer Technological Picture,” editorial, May 31:
Those who anticipate a great boon in jobs, particularly manufacturing, are misinformed. U.S. companies went out of the broadcast equipment business decades ago. Further, regardless of where invented (remember color TV? video recording?), HDTV manufacturing will be where TV sets are currently produced. The business realities are the same.
