Styles on Video Inc., a Canoga Park maker of computerized imaging systems that show pictures of proposed hairstyles, said it agreed to provide all in-store imaging for Revlon Inc.’s Ultima II cosmetics in leading department stores nationwide.
Styles said Revlon selected it after a recent successful two-month test of Styles’ imaging system in several Los Angeles area department stores, including The Broadway and Robinsons/May.
Styles on Video Inc. said it is negotiating to acquire the assets of its Dutch licensee, Styles on Video B.V.
The company said the acquisition would include all rights under a $1.3-million promotional agreement that Styles on Video B.V. has entered with a large Dutch hair-care products company.
Under the agreement, Schwarzkopf B.V. will offer a Styles on Video videocassette to customers who visit hair salons that use Schwarzkopf products. The videocassette will show customers how they would look with up to 24 different hairstyles and various colors.
The promotion will be launched in October. Styles on Video B.V. will receive $13 for each videocassette. The agreement calls for a minimum of 100,000 cassettes through December, 1994.
