The lithe music on this joy-giving collection ranges from Brazilianized Bach and Vivaldi through classic core repertory--Ernesto Nazareth, “Tico-Tico,” cuts from the “Black Orpheus” score--to contemporary gems such as Hermeto Pascoal’s “Chorinho para ele.” Robison applies her gleaming tone and flawless control evocatively, and need concede nothing in supple rhythmicality to her superb Brazilian colleagues.
