“BRASILEIRINHO: CHOROS, CHORINHOS, BOSSAS & BACH.” Paula Robison, flute; Romero Lubambo, Tiberio Nascimento, Stanley Silverman, guitars; Sergio Brandao, cavaquinho; Cyro Baptista, percussion. Omega Record Group OCD 3016. The lithe music on this joy-giving collection ranges from Brazilianized Bach and Vivaldi through classic core repertory--Ernesto Nazareth, “Tico-Tico,” cuts from the “Black Orpheus” score--to contemporary gems such as Hermeto Pascoal’s “Chorinho para ele.” Robison applies her gleaming tone and flawless control evocatively, and need concede nothing in supple rhythmicality to her superb Brazilian colleagues. The recorded sound conveys a full load of nuance and detail.
