A 37-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly hijacked a man’s car and robbed him of $5 in south Oxnard, police said Monday.
Keith L. Allen of Oxnard was in Ventura County Jail on Monday after he allegedly stopped a car driven by Miguel Garcia, 28, also of Oxnard, at Kamala and J streets about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.
The man ordered Garcia to drive several blocks, forced him out of the car, and robbed him at knifepoint, police said. The man took five $1 bills and hit Garcia several times in the face, police said.
Allen was arrested after Garcia gave police a description of his assailant, police said. Allen was taken in custody at a residence in the 700 block of West Kamala Street, the same block where the robbery occurred, police said.
Allen was booked on suspicion of kidnaping, robbery and felony battery, police said.
