Former Sen. Fulbright, 88, Hospitalized After Stroke

WASHINGTON — Former Sen. J. William Fulbright of Arkansas was in serious condition after a stroke, a hospital spokeswoman said Thursday. Fulbright, 88, was chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 1959 to 1974, a post he held longer than anyone else.
