Israel, Palestinians and Violence in Gaza and the West Bank

I was deeply touched by Helen Cobban’s column on the plight of Palestinians in Gaza. As an American Jew, I vehemently resent the cruelty Israeli security forces are meting out to our fellow human beings in the Gaza and in Lebanon.
How hypocritical it is for us to rant at the human rights violations against Soviet Jews and merely snicker at the pogrom Israelis are committing against Palestinians and Arabs! If, as American Jews, we do not pluck up courage to condemn such crimes against humanity, what moral right do we have to be stomping the world for Holocaust criminals? Enough of this hypocrisy!
Our leaders should press the Israeli government to pull out of all occupied lands in accordance with Resolution 242 of the U.N. Security Council.
