West Hollywood : Vote Delayed on Parks Closings
- Share via
The City Council has postponed until Jan. 19 a decision on whether to accept a recommendation by the county Sheriff’s Department to close the city’s parks between midnight and 6 a.m.
Citing increased crime, the department earlier this month recommended the restricted hours for West Hollywood, Plummer and William S. Hart parks. The parks are closed between 3 and 5 a.m.
The city Human Services Commission has recommended against the reduction in the hours, and instead has suggested that law enforcement efforts be increased in the parks during early morning hours.
