KCET Channel 28 has been awarded $900,000 by the U.S. Department of Education to produce a three-part series warning children about the dangers of drugs.
The grant was one of eight that the government agency gave to develop a video drug-abuse prevention campaign.
KCET’s contribution, to be called “Straight Up,” will be aimed at children in the 9-12 age range and will consist of three 30-minute programs.
After their broadcast on public television, they will be split into six 15-minute cassettes and will be distributed to teachers and schools.
