A threatened lawsuit from Ira Gershwin’s widow, Leonora, forced a Cleveland theater to withdraw its plans to perform a play about the lyricist and his brother, composer George Gershwin, it was announced Monday. According to a consent order filed in U.S. District Court in Cleveland last week, the Huntington Playhouse also agreed to turn over any scripts, videotapes or recordings from “A Gershwin Review,” a show constructed around tunes by the Gershwin brothers.
