Three children died in a fire that destroyed the family’s mobile home in southeast Fresno as the victims’ mother and older brother fled the flames uninjured. The mother was hospitalized in shock. The fire started just after 7 a.m. By the time firefighters reached the scene, the mobile home was engulfed in flames. Firefighters brought the bodies of Ambrosio Medina, 1, Terri Medina, 2, and Jovita Medina, 3, out of the rubble after the fire was controlled. The father was at work when the fire started. Investigators said the mother told them the burners on the gas stove in the kitchen were left on overnight for warmth but that they did not know how the flames spread.
