Instead of the comprehensive and thoughtful overview that an artist of McCartney’s stature deserves, this one-hour “special”--like so many video “profiles”--is a sketchy, fragmented collection of video clips (mostly from McCartney’s Wings and solo days) woven around an interview that merely serves up the standard questions and answers. In watching the former Beatle, however, one is impressed by how gracious and level-headed McCartney appears after all the years of spectacular fame.
