ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Kentucky and Kansas head the field for the 1988 Great Alaska Shootout, which was announced last week.
Joining Kentucky, Kansas and host Alaska-Anchorage will be Stetson, Iona, California and Villanova.
Another team is still to be announced for the 11th edition of the tournament, played annually over Thanksgiving weekend.
Kentucky, which won the 1979 Shootout, will be the only returning champion in the 1988 field. Kansas was runner-up to Alabama-Birmingham in its only appearance in 1984.
Villanova played in the 1985 Shootout and Iona in the 1979 and 1981 tournaments.
Stetson and California will be making their first appearance in the Shootout.
