Echeverria Leads USD Women to Win Over Seattle Pacific

Candida Echeverria had 21 points and 6 assists to lead the University of San Diego women’s basketball team to an 86-74 nonconference victory over Seattle Pacific University Saturday night at the USD Sports Center.
USD, which never trailed, forced 19 turnovers. The Toreras (2-6) were 16 of 18 (88.9%) from the free-throw line.
Lori Robinette led Seattle Pacific (6-3) with 20 points.
USD plays Northwestern University tonight at 7:30 at the USD Sports Center.
HOCKEY
Brent Mowery had a goal and two assists to lead United States International University to a 7-2 nonconference victory over Dartmouth College at the San Diego Ice Arena.
Matt Shaw scored the winning goal on a slap shot from the blue line with 1:02 remaining in the first period.
Dave Nash added a goal and an assist for USIU (8-10). Dartmouth is 3-5.
