Christa Kinshofer-Guetlein of West Germany skied to her first World Cup win since 1979 at Heavenly Valley, Calif., overcoming foggy conditions to win a slalom at Piancavallo, Italy.
Kinshofer-Guetlein recorded an aggregate time of 1 minute 32.07 seconds and edged Patricia Chauvet of France by one-fifth of a second.
