Anti-Anti-Rock

I am sick and tired of the overwhelming amount of letters printed in Calendar claiming that rock ‘n’ roll is mindless garbage. It would be one thing if these people took a meaningful stand, but all that ends up printed is whining.
Take for example Robert Hilburn’s Nov. 29 article on “Couch Potato Rock” (which, by the way, I thought was excellent).
Just last week in Calendar Letters, someone responded to his article by condemning the entire music form as well as Hilburn. The closest comparison I can think of is writing a letter to Sports Illustrated and saying football should be banned because it’s too violent.
Mail your anti-rock ‘n’ roll letters somewhere else!
