Girls’ Roundup : Edison Routs Ocean View, Makes Consolation Final

Stefanie Moorman scored 16 points and Krisden Tanabe 12 to lead Edison High School to a 52-39 victory over Ocean View Friday in the consolation round of the Savanna Tournament.
The Chargers (7-2) trailed, 10-8, after the first quarter but outscored the Seahawks, 20-6, to take a 28-16 halftime lead. Wendy Sandstedt had 14 rebounds for the Chargers. Ocean View (4-5) was led by Jenny Albright, who scored 12 points, and Erika Whistler with 10.
Edison will play Tustin in the consolation championship today at 1:45 p.m.
In the Savanna tournament:
Tustin 55, Savanna 32--Tustin played solid defense to open a 29-10 first-half lead in the other consolation semifinal. Kathy Snyder scored 15 for Tustin (5-4).
In the El Dorado tournament:
El Dorado 40, Elsinore 30--Shannon Paulson scored 14 points in one consolation semifinal. El Dorado plays Whittier Christian at 12:30 p.m. today in the consolation final.
In a nonleague game:
University 69, Hacendia Heights Wilson 31--Sandy Johnson scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds to lead University, which scored a school-record 69 points at Wilson. Denise Gandara had 10 points and 9 rebounds, Shelly Davis had 12 points and 8 rebounds and Laurie Sato had 8 assists for University (3-3).
