U.N. Assembly Asks U.S. to Let PLO Keep Office

UNITED NATIONS — The U.N. General Assembly has urged the United States not to close the Palestine Liberation Organization office in New York.
The resolution passed by a vote of 145-1 late Thursday night, with Israel casting the only negative vote. The United States did not vote.
The State Department recently closed down the PLO’s only other U.S. office, an information center in Washington. But it opposes a congressional move to close the Palestinian organization’s mission at the United Nations.
