Community College Basketball Roundup : Rancho Santiago Rolls to 81-62 Win

Kenny Ammann scored 23 points and Alonzo Jamison had 19 to lead Rancho Santiago College to an 81-62 victory over Washington Clark Thursday in the first round of the Cypress College men’s basketball tournament.
Chris Martin added 12 points for Rancho Santiago (10-2), which plays Santa Monica tonight at 6 in one semifinal. Rancho Santiago is the tournament’s defending champion.
In the College of the Sequoias Tournament:
College of Sequoias 85, Golden West 81 (OT)--Both teams had a chance to win in the final 30 seconds of regulation but both missed shots, forcing the game into overtime tied at 75-75.
Markus Muller-Stach led Golden West (6-5) with 19 points and Elbert Davis had 18.
In the Glendale Tournament:
El Camino 72, Orange Coast 53--Charles White scored 20 points and Kirkland Howling had 16 for El Camino (10-0), which is the top-ranked team in the state.
Dave Miles led OCC (8-6) with 14 points. El Camino led, 33-29, at the half, and OCC trailed by no more than eight until the final six minutes of the game.
In the Riverside Tournament:
Saddleback 52, Chaffey 49--Joe Hudson and Terrell Malone scored 13 points each for the Gauchos in a consolation-round game. Vincent Smalls added 10 points for Saddleback (7-6).
Saddleback trailed, 35-25, early in the second half but went on a 13-2 run to take the lead, 38-37, with 7:25 left.
Saddleback guard Renny Ingram, who was playing for the first time in a week after suffering an ankle injury, scored five points.
Saddleback plays San Diego Mesa at 4 p.m. in one consolation semifinal.
