It’s Cold, but Rainbow Trout Are Biting at Irvine Lake

Although the recent cold weather has slowed fishing at many locations, anglers at Irvine Lake have been consistently catching large rainbow trout.

John Schmidt of Rancho Cucamonga used a piece of cheese to land perhaps the biggest, an 11-pound 1-ounce rainbow. Chuck Evans Sr. and Jr., of Anaheim, had a productive outing as well, catching 10 trout totaling 28 pounds 8 ounces.
