Kimble to Make His Debut for Loyola Tonight

Loyola Marymount will get an early Christmas present tonight at 7:30 when Bo Kimble makes his debut for the Lions against Southern California College of Costa Mesa at Gersten Pavilion. It will be the first of a four-game home stand.
Kimble, the 6-foot 5-inch sophomore guard who transferred from USC, has been recuperating from a broken kneecap.
Without him, Loyola (3-3) has lost its last two games but is third in the nation in scoring with an average of 101.8 points a game.
For the Lions, Hank Gathers is averaging team highs of 24.7 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Corey Gaines is averaging 21.3 points and 9.2 assists, and forward Mike Yoest is adding 15.5 points and 7.2 rebounds.
SCC (3-4), the second of three National Assn. of Intercollegiate Athletics District III teams the Lions will play, averages 85 points a game. Top scorers for the Vanguards are center Mike Lightfoot with a 16.2-point average and forward Jeff de Laveaga with a 14.4-point average.
