Bo Schembechler’s condition was upgraded from satisfactory to fair Wednesday, a day after the Michigan football coach underwent quadruple heart bypass surgery at Ann Arbor, Mich., a hospital spokeswoman said.
Schembechler, 58, remained connected to a respirator but was conscious while recovering from Tuesday’s seven-hour procedure at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, nursing supervisor Val Greaves said.
