The Orange County Coalition for Immigrant Rights is offering a one-time Amnesty Fair Saturday for aliens unsure whether they qualify for legalization under the immigration reform bill’s legalization provision.
Medical examinations required by the legalization process will also be available at the fair, scheduled from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cal State Fullerton’s University Center.
The coalition, a broad-based community group that includes labor, religious and civic groups, will provide physical examinations for $30 for adults and $10 for children ages 14 and under. Examinations, which include a physical, a tuberculosis test and an AIDS test, usually cost $60 to $120, fair organizers said.
Robin Blackwell, coordinator for the coalition, said staff members from Catholic Charities, Episcopal Service and World Relief will be on hand to review documents and offer advice to undocumented aliens interested in applying for legalization.
