Local News in Brief : Supervisors Ask Probe of Racial Vandalism

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday requested the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations to investigate recent acts of racial vandalism in Glendale.
The motion, by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, asks that commissioners investigate whether there is a connection between the recent rise in racial vandalism in Glendale and a Nov. 22 appearance in the city by avowed racist and convicted church bomber J. B. Stoner. Since Stoner’s visit, which caused a near-riot outside the Glendale Holiday Inn where he was meeting with supporters, Glendale police reported four separate acts of racial vandalism.
Antonovich asked the commissioners to report back to supervisors in four weeks with their findings and recommendations.
