Loyola Women Cagers Play Redlands, UCSB

The Loyola Marymount University women’s basketball team, off to the best start in its history at 4-1, will play at the University of Redlands tonight, then begins a nine-game home stand Saturday against UC Santa Barbara. Both games begin at 7:30.
The Lions are led by freshman Kristen Bruich, scoring 14.2 points per game and shooting 55% from the field. She leads the team in assists with a 4.2 average and owns the Lions’ only three-pointer. Freshman Lynn Flanagan is next in scoring at 11.4. Michelle Bettencourt tops the rebounders with 7.2 per game.
The Lions’ home stand extends through Jan. 8. All games are non-conference.
