The three crewmen of a Navy munitions train that struck and maimed protester Brian Willson are still traumatized by nightmares and harassing telephone calls that make them “feel like criminals,” a psychologist said. “All three were very badly shaken” by the Sept. 1 incident at Concord Navy Weapons Station, psychologist Arlyne Diamond told the San Francisco Chronicle. Willson lost both legs when run over by a train he and other protesters were trying to block because they said it carried munitions bound for Central America. “For all three of them this was a nightmare catastrophe,” Diamond said. “They see themselves being called attempted murderers. They feel like criminals.” Only one of the three, brakeman Robert Mayfield, has returned to work.
