San Diego High School Basketball : Miller Paces Torrey Pines to 62-50 Win

DEL MAR — Junior forward Courtie Miller scored 22 points and had 9 rebounds Wednesday to lead Torrey Pines High School to a 62-50 victory over Mission Bay in a round-robin game of the Torrey Pines Tipoff Tournament at Torrey Pines High.
Neal Pollard added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Torrey Pines (3-0). Mike Endsley led Mission Bay (2-1) with 12 points.
Torrey Pines led, 50-47, after three quarters and pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Mission Bay, 12-3.
In other Torrey Pines games:
Fallbrook 51, San Dieguito 46--Fallbrook outscored San Dieguito, 13-6, in the fourth period at San Dieguito. Mike West scored 26 points and Travis Teagle added 11 to lead Fallbrook (4-1). San Dieguito is 2-2.
Mar Vista 75, St. Augustine 74--Rafael Santiago’s basket with seven seconds remaining gave Mar Vista (2-2) the victory at home. Tim Nicolis scored a game-high 24 points for Mar Vista and Eric Syverson added 15. Santiago scored 13 points.
Southwest 63, Ramona 56--Southwest opened a 34-25 halftime lead and defeated host Ramona despite a game-high 21 points by Ramona’s Chad Nelson.
In the Hilltop Tournament:
Chula Vista 45, Sweetwater 42--James Shaw scored 13 points and Leo Casas added 11 to lead Chula Vista. Scott Catlin led Sweetwater with 11 points.
La Jolla 78, Mira Mesa 70--Adam Kleid scored 25 points and Jerome Sherman added 14 to lead La Jolla. Sean Rodgers added 13 points for La Jolla, which led, 21-10, after the first quarter. David Lee and Tal Miller had 16 points each for Mira Mesa.
Kearny 62, Point Loma 53--Chris Ortiz had 17 points and Randy Robinson added 16 for Kearny. Jeff Johnson and Beau Pack led Point Loma with 17 points apiece.
Hoover 75, Hilltop 60--Darryl McMillan scored 16 points and Darrell Jamison added 15 for Hoover at Hilltop. Mark Dirksen scored a game-high 21 points for Hilltop.
In the Metro Conference:
Montgomery 60, Castle Park 54--Paul Ssali scored a game-high 19 points and Cid White added 14 to lead Montgomery (2-1, 1-0) at home in a conference opener for both teams. Albert Maldonado added 13 points for Montgomery, which led at halftime, 35-30. Cliff Korzep led Castle Park with 10 points.
