Brown Honored as MVP at CS Northridge

Richard Brown, a senior fullback, was honored as the Cal State Northridge football team’s most valuable player at an on-campus banquet Thursday night.
Brian Clark, a senior center, was named the team’s outstanding offensive player and senior linebacker Tracy Anderson was honored as the most outstanding defensive player.
Defensive end Lou Green was named the most inspirational and offensive tackle Lou Murino was named most improved. Kip Dukes, an All-American cornerback, was specialty player of the year.
Outstanding rookie was tailback Albert Fann, a freshman from Cleveland High. Best scout player on offense went to Greg Walker and Wayne Hall was selected the best defensive scout player.
Long-snapper John Dickman won the scholar-athlete award and defensive tackle Steve Dominic won the Kathryn Sefton Memorial Award as the player who best “exemplified the personal spirit and qualities of a college football player.”
