Basketball Roundup : Saddleback Slips by San Diego Mesa

Kelly Ann Wilson made consecutive field goals in the final minute to lead Saddleback College over San Diego Mesa, 58-56, in a nonconference women’s basketball game Wednesday at Saddleback.
Wilson finished with a game-high 18 points.
Saddleback, which played the entire game with the same five players, was behind 56-54 when Wilson made back-to-back field goals.
San Diego Mesa had the ball for the final 10 seconds but missed three shots.
Julian Moneghan (13 points) and Wilson played the final two minutes with four fouls. Tiffany Carresi scored 13 points and Michelle Smith 12 for Saddleback (4-4).
In a first-round game of the Golden West men’s basketball tournament:
Cerritos 85, Oxnard 83--Guard Jim Taylor made a driving layup with seven seconds left to help Cerritos break an 83-83 tie.
Cerritos went on a 17-2 run in the middle of the first half to take 26-24 lead.
Taylor had 22 points and Chris Naulls scored 20 for Cerritos (4-4). Oxnard is 5-6.
Cerritos plays Compton, an 86-77 winner over Riverside, in a semifinal game Friday at 6 p.m.
