FREMONT, Calif. — Roberto Guzman was putting his cats out Wednesday morning when he heard a noise, investigated, and found a newborn girl.
The infant was lying on a piece of newspaper in some bushes at a gas station next door, police said.
“It’s just fortunate he went out to look for what was making the noise. It was pretty chilly,” said Officer Dennis Satariano.
He said there were no leads to parents of the baby, who was hospitalized in stable condition.
