A 26-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine was killed at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when his car went off South Mission Road, hit a power pole and landed upside down in a creek, California Highway Patrol Officer Bruce Simpson said. The Marine’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
