Man Killed While Walking on Freeway

A pedestrian walking in the darkness along the busy California 94 freeway in San Diego was struck and killed by car Wednesday evening, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The identity of the San Diego man was was withheld pending notification of relatives.
The victim, who was wearing dark clothing, was struck at 7:40 p.m. as he walked in an eastbound lane of the freeway about a quarter mile east of 22nd Street. The driver of the car which struck the man was not held, the CHP said.
