Pasadena : Rose Decision Delayed
A final decision on the controversial Rose Townhomes housing development has been delayed for a week because an amendment has been added to the zoning change necessary for the project to move forward.
The amendment, approved Monday, restricts access to the property during construction on Washington Boulevard and two other streets bordering the project. Because the board must vote twice on a new ordinance such as the zoning change, final action on the proposal has been delayed until Dec. 14.
Opponents of the 184-unit project have said the developers want to build too many homes on the 16.4-acre site north of Pasadena High School on Washington Boulevard. They have vowed to overturn the zoning change through a citywide vote if it is approved.
