Local News in Brief : Drilling Foes Lose Again
- Share via
Pacific Palisades residents opposed to plans for oil drilling along Pacific Coast Highway lost another round in court Monday.
The state Court of Appeal denied a request by No Oil Inc. to review the court’s Nov. 17 ruling in favor of Occidental Petroleum Corp. and the City of Los Angeles, which had approved the company’s plans to drill.
The appellate ruling turned aside No Oil’s claim that the city improperly approved the drilling project and that more environmental analysis was needed.
Opponents have said that they will ask the California Supreme Court to hear the case.
