Baby Jane Doe, who was only a few hours old when she was found behind an Alpha Beta supermarket in Anaheim, was transferred from an Anaheim hospital Monday to Orangewood, the county shelter for abused, neglected or abandoned children.
Now 2 weeks old, the baby girl was found by a supermarket cashier in a dumpster behind the store on Nov. 21.
She was examined at Martin Luther Hospital in Anaheim and held there until a bed became available Monday in the infant nursery at Orangewood, hospital officials said.
Betty Bartley, a spokeswoman for Martin Luther Hospital, said the infant is in good health.
Orangewood officials said Baby Jane Doe will remain at the shelter until a foster home is found for her.
Authorities said no one has yet come forward to claim the child.
