Double Standard in Relationships
I would like to commend the author of The Times editorial, “Double Standard” (Nov. 29), about the existing double standard in the U.S.-China relationship. On the same note I would like to express my opinion on the situation.
I strongly feel that it is the duty of the United States to at least make some form of comment concerning the human-rights conditions in China regardless of its slightly paranoid fear of this act making a negative effect on the so far stable relationship with China. Although there is going to be a risk involved, it is important to see that even a few U.S. comments thrown around could possibly lead to a necessary improvement in Chinese society.
