As a favor to me and all my old pals from “Mother Bu,” as we so fondly called the beach--tell your readers of “Freida Zamba Rides High on Surfing’s New Wave,” by Kem Nunn (Nov. 1), that I really did surf and wasn’t just a beach bimbo. I was one of a very few girl surfers--no one had even dreamed of pro surfing contests then.
