NBC Set to Stay in Rockefeller Center: Koch

NEW YORK — NBC is close to reaching an agreement with the city on an incentive package that would keep the network at its Rockefeller Center headquarters, quelling talk of a move to New Jersey, Mayor Edward Koch said.
“It is not done until the peacock crows and we hope it crows soon,” Koch said Thursday, referring to the network’s feathered symbol.
NBC officials said that they were meeting with city leaders to discuss the tax package but that no final agreement had been reached.
Although the exact terms of the package offered by the city have not been released, it was expected to include multimillion-dollar tax incentives and a promise by the city to revamp studio space for new equipment needs.
