Times’ All-Star Football Team

The 1987 Times All-San Gabriel Valley football team will be announced in Thursday’s edition of the San Gabriel Valley section.
The 46-member first and second squads were selected by sportswriters based on a poll of coaches and discussions with scouts. First-team players will be honored with a breakfast and awards ceremony at 9 a.m. next Sunday at the Anaheim Hilton, 777 Convention WAy.
All-stars from 12 Times circulation areas will be honored at the ceremony.
Featured speaker will be Coach Larry Smith of USC, who guided the Trojans to an 8-3 record and a berth in the Rose Bowl.
