Ex-Pardon Board Chief Sentenced in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. — The former chairman of the Louisiana Pardon Board was sentenced to five years in federal prison Friday for selling his vote in pardon decisions.
Howard Marsellus Jr., 54, also was sentenced to two years in prison on related charges in state court, but that term will run concurrently with the federal one. Marsellus was appointed by Gov. Edwin W. Edwards in 1984 and suspended by Edwards after he was indicted in 1986.
