WASHINGTON — The manufacturer of the Hedstrom Probe VI battery-powered riding toy has offered to repair them to eliminate a potential fire hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Wednesday.
The Probe VI is a six-wheeled, two-speed all-terrain vehicle with two motors powered by six-volt, gel-type lead acid batteries. It is designed for children ages 3 to 7.
Safety commission officials said the fire danger exists in units without fuses, about 30,000 of which were manufactured from 1983 to June, 1985.
