Gorbachev’s U.S. Visit
I’d like to think that Americans, including particularly, representatives of the American electorate, can tolerate differences, can listen to varying points of view and can behave with civility toward guests. President Reagan and Gorbachev together are due respect from all of us while they attempt to reverse the nuclear arms race to destruction.
Such thinking and threatening is plain bad sportsmanship, not what I call “conservative.” I cannot think what’s being conserved by people with an “I-Won’t-Play-If-I-Can’t-Have-My-Own-Way” attitude.
