Whittier : Quake Loan Program Set

Applications are available at Whittier City Hall for a city-sponsored loan and grant program to assist owners of earthquake-damaged homes. Residents who did not qualify for federal aid or whose federal assistance was not enough to pay for repairs are eligible for the program, which includes $5,000 grants for senior citizens and the handicapped, no-interest deferred loans and low-interest loans. Applications may be obtained from the Home Rehabilitation Department.
